Just how good is the CDJ 1000 and how long has it been around?

Well, as far as how good it is, it comes from Pioneer Electronics which should be a telling sign that it will be top quality. And to answer the second question, it has been around since 2001.

The CDJ 1000 (renamed the mk1 after the release of the mk2) was introduced to the world as a digital turntable that excelled at playing CDs, was considered the original CD player that could function as a vinyl turntable, and provided the first opportunity for DJ’s to “scratch”.  In other words, it was an innovation.  Now with the release of the CDJ 1000mk3, the technology has gone to a new stratosphere.

This player has taken over the club scene as a favored instrument of DJ’s everywhere.  The 1000 can be used with MP3’s, includes a hot loop element, and a resolution that is brighter on both the display and the raised jog wheel display.

The CDJ 1000mk3 utilizes a digital display touch sensitive platter that provides information about the music positioning.   This platter doesn’t spin like an actual turntable but the display allows for precise cueing.

 The main attraction of this amazing machine is the ability to use several different disc formats including CD-R, CD-RW, and CD for MP3 data and CD-Audio data.

The CDJ 1000 is thought by most people to be the first CD player to be used in dance clubs.  It continues to grow in popularity and sales have exploded in the U.S. and in other countries.  If you are a serious DJ, it would be well worth your while to check out the incredible bit of technology.
